Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
BT Sport pundit and former Chelsea and Celtic striker Sutton pointed the finger at Pellegrini for overseeing a decline in the team’s work ethic compared to his predecessor.

“Rather than laying the blame at David Moyes’s door, Pellegrini needs to take some responsibility,” Sutton wrote in his Mail column. “He brought in Mario Husillos as his director of football and the owners allowed him to spend close to £100million.

“The simple fact is that performances have not been good enough.

“The most alarming statistic is that West Ham have run 65.6 miles per game in their four matches this season — 2.5 miles fewer than under Moyes.”

"rolling contract" the mark of sullivan.

don't get why the bloke doesn't just offer zero hour contracts.

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
I reckon he has the next five games to prove he can turn things round. If by the time we play Tottenham in October we are still in the same sort of shit, Sullivan will have a big decision to make.
Claret and Hugh say Pellegrini and his coaches have a rolling 12 months contract up to 3 years. Any compensation payable for an early departure would be restricted to the remaining part of each 12 month period, so Pelle wouldn't get paid off for the entire 36 months contract less time worked.
Looks like Southon has heard this from his mate Gold so the two dildos must be worried by the critical turn of events.

Yep I'm aware of this - we've had this conversation over and over again since the Bournemouth game.

My point is, and has been that his 4-2 whatever clearly doesn't suit the personnel we have. I'm suggesting we revert to a system that worked towards the end of last season albeit at the expense of the new signings.

Yes there are 34 games left - but we'll get nothing from the next 3 - that amount of games soon gets whittled away - before you know it, by the end of October we could be well adrift of safety, the crowd will be more offside than we already are - player morale would be at an all time low - Lets not sugar coat this, we are bang in trouble.

I'm impressed at how you have watched every single game that Pellegrini has managed over 30 years, that's good knowledge there fella!

Middle of the park is the problem. We want to play an attacking expansive game, yet through the middle we are exploited.

It is fine to have fast explosive wingbacks and wide men but the gap through the middle puts the defence under pressure.

Our middle involves a slow but hard working Captain, an injury stricken midfielder who is aiming to rebuild his career, an ageing defensive midfielder who never really excelled when he was last in England and a fringe player who was almost sold in the window.

We then send the majority of our young players on loan who could have made some difference.

Pellegrini doesn't play a back 3, infact he has never used that formation in his entire managerial history.

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
As it stands - I would revert back to last seasons formation for some form of stability.

Fabianski

Rice
Diop
Cresswell

Fredericks/Zabaleta (Wing back)
Masuaka (Wing back)

Sanchez - Obiang

Arnautovic

Hernandez/ Perez

We don't have Lanzini, so need some sort of creative force between midfield and attack. Clearly, Anderson/Wilshere not capable of this at that moment. Arnautovic is dropping deep, so let him and play Pea up front.

The left hand side of Masuaka, with Cresswell getting round him did work well at times last season.

In truth, it's hard to know what the best formation would be, given the new manager, new players and supposed new approach at the club.

That's Pellegrini's job and, while it is early days, he has shown no sign yet of imposing anything like a distinct style and sense of direction on his squad.

The whole lot of them (manager and coaches included) already need a giant kick up the backside. After early signings and a full pre-season together, they look like they've all just met - with a few ringers picked up at the back of a pub car park on the way to a Sunday league game at Hackney Marshes.

Maybe if we are to play a 2 at CB we partner Diop & Rice and stick with it.

Could Ogbonna play LB ?

Creswell was appalling on Saturday, he has to be dropped, yet we need a defender over there, maybe Zaballetta, though he needs to play on the right side as Fredericks is so out of his depth also !

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
Btw, we have too many (expensive, wages-wise) makeweights in this side. Balbuena, Sanchez and Snodgrass (and others) will all be pub quiz questions in a few years time.

They just feel like Tommy Hitzlsperger and Pablo Barrera-style signings. Give it a season or two and everybody will be asking 'did they play for us?'

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
It's OK to criticise him, constructively, at any time after performances like that.

We were absolutely awful on Saturday. I don't like the new stadium, so gave up my season ticket. That was my first game this season. Clueless, shapeless, directionless, passionless.

As we found out in 2002/03, no side is too good to go down. This lot certainly are not.

Pellegrini has already admitted he is 'very worried'. He's in trouble if he can't mark out a tactical shape and a sense of direction within the next few games. If we go through the Everton, Chelsea and United games and still don't have a point (which looks likely the way we are going) then I think he'll be gone. Deservedly - unless things change quickly. But it starts with the players - they have to step up. Individually, they were absolutely terrible on Saturday: too casual too often, a yard off the pace and littered with individual errors that you shouldn't see fifteen year-olds make.

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
With the fixtures and change , this was always going to take till October to get right. When the fixture list came out you could see we could easily go with no points, the four easier games against teams who seem to either constantly best us Bournemouth and Everton, a team who put a third of there goals past us last year in Brighton (moyes in charge as well ) and wolves a 120 million pound team just won their league who will do well until ffp catches up to them.

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
Sullivans fault, years of under investment has meant we have had to buy numerous players and chuck them together and expect a team shape and familiarity to be there and performing. It's not and it going to take alot of time, this season is a right off already.

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
One can only hope that after 4 games Pellegrini can pick the best 11 players from those games for the Everton match.
Surely we can pick up our first points then and put on a good display.

Re: When will it be acceptable to critisise Pellegrini?
Hope there is a "Non Performance " clause in his contract...
So it won't need full payout of his multi million wages ...

Sullivan should be clever enough to have put one in...

If MP does get the bullet I’m sure the usual shower of shit will be linked.
After having their fingers burnt the dickheads in charge will panic & go for PL experience.

I’d look to Italy, Germany or Spain for someone who has experience in getting results from average groups of players. Someone who can motivate & organise.
